Preparing for an FUE Hair Transplant

After finding the ideal clinic for FUE hair transplant, it's time to carry out a couple of preparations. Some people may view a hair transplant procedure as minor, but it helps to get ready all the same. A doctor may give some of these tips for your preparation.

Habits to Avoid

A doctor may advise you against habits such as smoking or drinking alcohol. The intake of nicotine may have certain effects on the body like interfering with the blood circulation, which can be detrimental in the healing of wounds.

Scarring chances also increase when blood vessels constrict from nicotine. Alcohol can interact badly with medication or anaesthesia. It may also leave the body a little too dry during the operation. You can be advised against nicotine and alcohol about two weeks before the surgery.

Hair Length

The length of your hair will matter when getting an FUE transplant. If it’s too long, then the doctor may shave it to meet the specifications. During a consultation, a doctor can tell you if you have to wait if your hair is too short.

Medication

You'll also need to notify your physician if you are currently on medication. Beta-blockers, anti-coagulants, and antidepressants can interfere with the procedure, so ask your doctor when you need to stop taking them. Usually, you will be advised against taking anti- inflammatory medication.
